What is the C.A.M.P. program?

C.A.M.P. is a low-key program which allows you to build a team of supporters while you are ministering to campers at Camp Cherith of Western New York. C.A.M.P. represents a group of people called Caring Adult Ministry Partners.

Why is the C.A.M.P. program important?

Camp Cherith is a non-profit camping ministry for boys and girls. The campers' fees only covers about half of our operational costs, thus we raise funds from interested individuals, churches, or businesses to allow us to give additional money to our paid staff. We feel it is important to increase the very moderate salaries of our staff.

What are the benefits of the C.A.M.P. program?

  • This program allows you to add money to your base salary. The benefits to you are determined by the total of money committed to the program.
  • Other summers each participant received between $250- $500. It could be more or less depending how much comes in, how many weeks you work and how many staff members participate. Your payment will come in the form of a 'bonus' at the end of the summer (in a separate check).
  • You will compile a list of people who know you to build a team of adult supporters. You will mail these people a letter 'from the Camp Director' explaining the program on your behalf. They will have opportunity to pray for you and the effectiveness of your ministry in the lives of the campers. They will also have the opportunity to financially support your summer ministry.
  • Campers' parents benefit because fees can be kept as low as possible, and yet we can provide quality staff members like you.

How do I participate in the C.A.M.P. program to supplement my salary?

You make a list, including full name and mailing address, of potential 'partners' that you will be sending a form letter to, the letter written by the director explains this partner/ giving opportunity to your contacts. You will be responsible for the initial mailing of the form letters to at least 35 contacts. All donations given to the C.A.M.P. program will be put into one fund and will later be divided and distributed to each participant. Additional details about the CAMP program will be sent after staff members are hired.

*Other details about how to participate in this program will be sent to all staff after applications are accepted.
