Meet Our Camp Directors
Evie (Wagner) White 'Rufous' became the director of CCWNY in 2005. A graduate of the CIT (Counselor in Training) program, she's filled many staff positions over the years, from counselor to horsemanship instructor to Assistant Director. She has a BS in Physical Education from The King's College and has been a teacher and a coach.
Evie lives in Westminster, MD with her husband, Orville 'Fisher', who shares her love of Cherith and joins the staff to teach fishing and NRA riflery as well as helping with site maintenance.
Assistant Director–Amanda Tobias
I'm Pteri Ibis, and I'll be the Assistant Director this summer. I have Bachelors Degree in Childhood and Special Education from Roberts Wesleyan College and a Masters Degree in Literacy from SUNY Albany. Outside of camp, I teach 5th grade in Albany, NY
I've been working at Camp Cherith WNY since the summer of 2009. I've had the wonderful privilege to see many of the campers I've had over the years join me on staff at camp. I've worked with all ages and held many roles at CCWNY such as a cabin counselor, division director, craft specialist, tuck shop manager, fishing instructor, day camp director, and assistant camp director. My favorite thing about camp is the relationships you form. Not many other places can you come back after a year and pick up where you left off.
